Conscious Living

If we first accept that we are human, and make a move to understand what that means, what we are, what natural faculties we share with each  and every other human, then the task is to live that well.  What is a human being capable of.  What are the attributes that makes  us this particular species.  Do we underestimate ourselves as an entire expression of life.  Living consciously for me is to first understand this.  It is the common ground that we all walk upon.  Only then are we able to explore ourselves in a context that provides deep relevance to our personal state.  We are able to see the way in which we work, the way we are in the world, and really step outside our own generic thinking about ourselves and the world about us.  We as humans are all capable of amazing things, and what makes them amazing is the way they relate to your life, you personally.   People have performed many acts that leave us surprised, dumbfounded at times as to the resource of a human being.  Yet we leave these deeds in the box of extraordinary, and knuckle head down to deal with the mundane, thinking that this is all.  Humans are capable of many things, if we can do them under duress  or unforeseen circumstances, surely we are capable of doing them wittingly.  Living consciously means not only being aware of your personal traits, it also refers to comprehending the human state, and living that with an awareness and applying the insights you have to  your life.  It means taking on the human race, living it, being human in all of what that means.
